2 | Key and functional tasks of the department | The Senior Program Manager at NUGSB reports to the Associate Dean for Degree Programs. Key tasks of the department include:
Coordinate administrative activities associated with the design and delivery of high quality degree programs; Plan, organize, and conduct the academic process; Contribute to Administration Policy Development within the Graduate School of Business; Establish, implement and assess academic policies and practices associated with the delivery of high quality degree programs; Promote a professional and favorable image of the School; Assist with the effective functioning of the Graduate School of Business through interactions with the strategic partner, research centers, other NU organizations/departments and stakeholders; Participate in negotiations and drafting of agreements (Memorandums and contracts, etc.) with international and local partners within the limits of the Department’s responsibility. |
3 | Key and functional tasks of the position | The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing degree programs. This position serves as a key contact point for the NUGSB Associate Dean, students, faculty (including the faculty from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University). The Senior Program Manager must liaise with the Business Development Director at the Fuqua School of Business regarding program calendars, course scheduling, identification of required course materials and other related issues.
The Senior Program Manager is responsible for providing overall operational support for all programmatic activities, which include the following: · Coordinate the work of teaching assistants and other staff to ensure effective and efficient program delivery · Participate in the development of program calendars · Manage program timelines and deliverables and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program · Ensure high professionalism and customer service · Ensure that programs operate within the approved budget · Monitor program activities on a regular basis · Supervise program staff , coach and mentor other Program Managers by providing direction, recommendations, input and feedback · Supervise the teaching assistants and ensure proper allocation of TAs per course for all the programs · Specific duties associated with overseeing program operations for all degree programs include: · Orientation week planning and delivery for EMBA, FTMBA, MEM, MSc in Finance · On-site management of degree program delivery · Ensure the teaching schedule is complete and that all courses are staffed. · With Teaching Assistants (and NULITS, where relevant), manage procurement, duplication, and distribution of course materials · Manage registration for courses · Design and manage special degree program events. · Facilitate the planning, execution, and logistics of programs · · Additional responsibilities include: · Communicate and coordinate with relevant NUGSB functions, such as Admissions and Career Services, as well as external vendors of program services. · Assist with development and monitoring of degree program budget · Identify and advocate for areas of degree program improvement. · Serve as primary liaison with class representatives. · Other duties as required by the Associate Dean and management of the University. |

5 | Education: | Higher professional education, master degree is required, diploma from a foreign university is preferable; An MBA, Master’s in Marketing or Higher Education, or related graduate degree is preferred. |

Good knowledge of education system in the field of Business Administration in Kazakhstan and foreign countries; Ability to work effectively with local and international teams; Ability to Ability to take responsibility for actions and decisions. |
7 | Professional knowledge and personal qualities | S/he must have at least 3 years of experience in academic institutions, project management or a related field that requires skills necessary to administer program activities. |
8 | Proficiency in languages, including state language, (list of languages) | Fluent Kazakh, English and Russian;
Excellent oral speech and writing skills (Russian, Kazakh, English); |
9 | Computer skills: | High level of computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power Point). Knowledge of electronic document management system. |

2 | Key and functional tasks of the department: | Under the direction of the Dean of the NU Graduate School of Business and Executive Director, provides executive, analytical and other kinds of support to the school in a wide variety of areas including: special projects, correspondence, maintenance of the calendar and managing the day-to-day operations, translation of documents. The consultant will coordinate activities and act as liaison to the offices of senior management across campus, oversee administrative support and logistics, prioritize tasks and work independently with a high degree of confidentiality. |
3 | Key and functional tasks of the position: | – Act as point person for all staff who request the Dean’s support. Manage the Dean’s agenda, coordinate workflow, communications, processes and procedures for all work done in direct support of the Dean.
– Write up meeting minutes, and conduct appropriate follow-up communication. – Perform special assignments as requested by the leadership of the School. – Respond to requests and inquiries from University faculty, staff, and students regarding divisional and university policies and procedures. -Assist in operational activities of the school – Provide daily and long-term assistance on a wide range of assignments on behalf of the School. – Prepare detailed briefing materials. Provide pertinent facts, data and other background information for meetings, reports, inquiries, agendas and presentations. – Assist the leadership of the School, where appropriate, in understanding local custom and culture. – Translate documents into English, Russian and Kazakh and send the letters to the government organizations, managing all external and internal correspondence |
